IN ESSENTIALS UNITY, IN NON-ESSENTIALS LIBERTY, IN ALL THINGS LOVE
WHO ARE THE MORAVIANS?
The Moravian Church was founded in 1457 in Bohemia. Today, we have around 1 million members and 1,000 congregations worldwide.
From its foundation, the Moravian Church has sought to work with other Christians wherever possible.
We are open, outward looking and welcoming.
OUR SERVICES
Our weekly services are held at 11am each Sunday.
Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month after the main service.
Sunday School is held at the same time as the main service.
Special services include our community Christingle Service and our Holy Week Evening Services.
CLIFTONVILLE
Our congregation has borne a Christian witness in the Oldpark and Cliftonville areas of North Belfast for over 100 years.
We are a small and caring community that welcomes visitors and new members alike.
ABOUT US
Worship is central to all that we do as Moravians. We use our own liturgy, which is broadly similar to aspects of Anglican worship, but we also use a 'free order', not unlike our Presbyterians and Methodist brothers and sisters. In Cliftonville we use a mix of worship styles depending on time of year and who is leading the service.
Our church is one of five congregations in the Irish District of the British Province of the Moravian Church
